The Best Blogs of 2022

The most popular Revel blogs of the year ranked.

Cal Ripken, Jr. of the Baltimore Orioles holds the record for playing in 2,632 consecutive Major League Baseball games over 16 years. I’m no Cal Ripken, Jr., but I committed to writing a weekly blog back in March. This wasn’t the first time I’ve tried this. I made a similar blogging resolution in 2016. Even I was skeptical I’d be able to do it. Would I make the time? What would I write about? Would anyone read my blogs?

Apparently, I picked a good year to read Atomic Habits because all told, I’ve written 39 blogs counting this one in 42 weeks since my proclamation—a new record! (I wouldn’t have been able to do it without my partner in crime and accountability partner. Shout out to Amber Vlietstra for helping make me stick to it. It pays to have a former college composition professor as a co-worker.)

Seeing how this is the time of the year when we’re inundated with “best of” lists, I figured, why not write the definitive Best of the Revel Blog blog?

I was feeling lazy after writing all those blogs, so I let AI write this one with the help of TLDRthis. Here are the Best Revel Blogs of 2022 ranked by pageviews. Let the robot writing begin:

8. The Best Office Movie and TV Scenes

A new major award pays homage to the best scenes about the American workplace. The criteria the judges (me) abided by when selecting the winners are: The scene has to be set in or related to working in an office. Only one clip per movie or TV show.

7. What Coaching Youth Sports Taught Me About Marketing

I didn’t grow up wanting to be Sparky Anderson. I never saw myself as a coach. I wanted to be Kirk Gibson, a bruiting left-handed slugger who mashed 523-foot home runs into the lumberyard across from Tiger Stadium instead. The day came to coach my first travel baseball game. About 30 seconds into the meeting, I realized I was in trouble. I vowed never to go into a game unprepared again.

Employer brand is the sum of the visual and non-visual aspects that give individuals a reason to believe in an organization.
